Governor’s Medals For Science And Technology

NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2019 AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN

The Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology is the highest civilian award bestowed by the State in those fields. It is awarded in the four categories of academia, science education, industry, and government. The award was initiated in 1987 and is sponsored by the Utah Science and Technology Research Initiative. Nominations are reviewed by a selection panel of industry experts and educators before being presented to the governor for final approval.

K-12 Education

Dana Carroll, Ph.D., distinguished professor, Department of Biochemistry at the University of Utah
