The Governor’s Office of Economic Development charter is based on Governor Herbert’s commitment to economic development statewide. The mandate for this office is to provide rich business resources for the creation, growth and recruitment of companies to Utah and to increase tourism and film production in the state.
The Governor’s Office of Economic Development accomplishes this mission through the administration of programs that are based around industries or “economic clusters” that demonstrate the best potential for development. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development utilizes state resources and private sector contracts to fulfill its mission.
The Utah Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC) is the largest and most accessible statewide source of assistance for small businesses in every stage of development. The Network has 14 locations across Utah, including 10 regional centers and 4 service locations staffed by 30 team members. The Utah SBDC Network is a partnership between the state’s colleges and universities, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
Hill Air Force Base is an Air Force Materiel Command base located in northern Utah. It is the Air Force’s second largest base by population and geographical size, and is home to many operational and support missions. The base is also the largest single-site employer in the state of Utah, with an economic impact of more than $3 billion annually.
The host organization at Hill AFB is the 75th Air Base Wing. The 75th ABW oversees 1,000,000 acres and more than 1,700 facilities valued at $4 billion while providing installation support for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Force active duty 388th and Reserve 419th Fighter Wings and more than 50 mission partners that employ more than 21,000 personnel.

World Trade Center Utah is a licensed and certified member of the World Trade Centers Association, a network of more than 300 World Trade Centers in 100 countries around the world focused on facilitating prosperity through trade and investment. WTC Utah’s strategic partners include the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service, Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Utah Technology Council, Utah Manufacturers Association, USTAR the state’s Institutions of Higher Education, and local economic development officers and agencies.
